So, I have a headcanon that 2D has ADD/inattentive ADHD I mean these are some of the symptoms: - missing details and becoming distracted easily
- becoming confused easily or daydreaming frequently
- seeming not to listen when spoken to directly
- processing information more slowly and with more mistakes than peers
and there's more of course. It fits right? I'm probably just prejudiced because I have it myself, and I know that canon-wise these things are probably due to the car crash.. But I still headcanon it ^^ |

I thought this too  I don't really know enough about ADD to be able to comment on it properly though, but it's something I've discussed with a RP friend before. Would you say his tendency to 'fiddle' or 'fidget' and not be able to keep still (it's hard to explain, but it's mostly noticable in the Melancholy Hill Music Video - he plays with his fingers, wiggling them together when he watches Cyborg Noodle) another trait of his potential ADD? |

Yeah the finger fiddling is something I also noticed! it's also very clear in the ''the eel'' G-bite. Fidgeting/not being able to sit still is more of an ADHD trait as far as I know, but I think the border between ADD and ADHD is kind of blurry anyway! some people only have the hyperactive traits, some only have the inattentive traits and some have both.

This is totally one of my favorite headcanons. As someone who also has ADD this makes perfect sense, and I base a lot of that on my own experiences, although personally I sometimes don't know what's a normal characteristic or not because it's such a part of me lol. But there are lots of things about him I can relate to in that regard. I have the tendency to basically "blank out" when I'm really focused on my own thoughts, and in ROTO I think 2D says that he was basically staring off into space for "three hours or so" in the piano store when Murdoc crashed into him. I also connect that with his Phase 3 ident where he's staring out the window. (Again, I don't know if this is an ADD thing or just something I do, so sorry if there's anything wrong with that assumption. And I suppose that can go under daydreaming but idk.) That's the first thing that comes to mind, but I know I have other stuff.

Yeah! I love this. And 2D doesn't have to be hyperactive or inattentive; he can be both, like me!
But, yeah. I really like this headcannon! It makes sense because, as you said, he fiddles with his fingers and squirms around a lot when we see him in videos and such. Plus the fact that in interviews and the like, he tends to go on tangents about random stuff and just speaking what comes to mind (at least from what I've got around to seeing) or go on and on about a topic and how he seems to be so distant and in his thoughts all the time. Like the the Melancholy Hill video, (at least to me) at the end he didn't really look like he was actually looking at something, just kinda staring off into the distance running around in his own thoughts; sam with what @sleepyhead_tea was talking about with his staring off into space.
And the ADD headcannon (along with all his migraines and pain pills and such) makes me want to think that 2D is actually pretty smart, but his mental illnesses and drug abuse is just bogging that down, I guess you would say?
